A coalition of political supporters aligned with Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso has appointed Hon. James Nwogha Nwite as the Ebonyi State Coordinator of the “OK Movement for a New Nigeria,” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwite disclosed this on Sunday while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
He said the movement brings together members of the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiya political structure, with the aim of strengthening opposition collaboration and mobilising support at the grassroots.
According to him, his appointment was communicated by the national leadership of the group through its National Coordinator, Hon Ndubuisi Mbah, a few days ago, adding that formal inauguration is expected to follow.
Nwite, a former member of the Federal Board of the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority and former Coordinator of the Kwankwasiyya Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 elections, said the coalition is focused on building a broad-based political platform ahead of the next electoral cycle.
He stated that the alliance is working towards a unified strategy that could see both political blocs cooperate in the selection of candidates for the 2027 elections.
The coordinator also said the movement intends to expand its structures across states, beginning with grassroots mobilisation in Ebonyi.
He urged residents of the state to support the initiative, describing it as an effort to address governance challenges and improve national leadership outcomes.
Nwite further called on voters to participate actively in the democratic process and make informed choices in future elections.
He, however, noted that the movement is still in its early stages, with organisational arrangements ongoing at both national and state levels.
