He made this announcement during an Easter homage visit by the union leaders to him at his Abakaliki residence.
Ojimba said the monthly stipend is intended to assist the union leaders in the administration of community affairs.
He also announced a university scholarship programme for one nominee from each of the 36 communities of Izzi clan to further support human capital development.
“The stipend and scholarship programmes are aimed at empowering local leaders and promoting education within the community,” Ojimba said.
He urged the union leaders to continue fostering peace, unity, and collaboration within their communities, emphasizing that such efforts are critical for sustained development.
The visit also saw the town union presidents declared their support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s re-election bid in the 2027 gubernatorial elections.
Augustine Akpu, Chairman of the Izzi Town Union Presidents, extolled Governor Nwifuru’s administration for delivering reforms in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
Akpu called on political stakeholders within the Izzi clan to support Nwifuru’s second-term ambition to ensure continuity of development initiatives.
