A coalition of political stakeholders, community leaders, business figures and supporters under the platform of Izhi Integrated Farms Nigeria Limited has endorsed the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was made during a solidarity gathering held on Monday in Ebonyi State with the theme, “Let the Good Work Continue – 4+4=8.”
The event attracted notable personalities from different sectors who expressed support for the governor’s administration, particularly in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, rural development and youth empowerment.
Representing the governor at the event, Chief Matthias Adum, Principal Secretary to the Governor, thanked the group for the endorsement and pledged the administration’s continued commitment to transforming the state.
“Thank you for this endorsement and I accept it. God will help us to do better for our people as we are on a mission to transform the lives of not just Izhi people but Ebonyi State at large,” he said.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Izhi Integrated Farms Nigeria Limited, Hon. Ifeanyi Julius Nwibo, described Governor Nwifuru as a “farmers-friendly governor,” noting that the administration had recorded significant progress in the agricultural sector.
According to him, the governor’s policies and support had continued to create opportunities for agricultural growth and innovation across the state.
“Through the help of the governor, we are setting up a skill centre to construct and assemble agricultural equipment. It will be of global standard,” Nwibo stated.
Also speaking, Distinguished Senator Chris Nwankwo, Grand Patron of the association, commended the governor for what he described as his practical commitment to food sustainability and agricultural development in the state.
“Our governor has done well. In Ndunwoloshi and Amegu-Enyim, the governor has built dams that would sustain the people throughout the dry season farming,” he said.
The elder statesman added that Governor Nwifuru deserved another term in office to consolidate ongoing developmental projects across Ebonyi State.
During the programme, Rev. Dr. Joseph Nwibo moved the motion for the endorsement of the governor for a second term, while the motion was seconded by Dr. Sunday Nwangele.
In her remarks, Barr. Elizabeth commended the administration for supporting women in agriculture, noting that more women had ventured into farming and agribusiness since Governor Nwifuru assumed office.
“I am a lawyer by profession, but after my law school, I didn’t just start practicing law, I ventured into agriculture. Since the governor came into power, women have been greatly supported to own not just a farm but hectares of farmland. So why won’t I and other women support his reelection? We are firmly behind him,” she said.
The programme also featured the presentation of an endorsement certificate to the governor’s representative, group photographs and renewed calls for unity and continuity in governance.
Among dignitaries present at the event were Senator Chris Nwankwo, Hon. Uchenna Nwankpuma, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor’s Office, Arch. Friday Nwogba and other stakeholders and community representatives.
Speakers at the gathering emphasized the need for continuity in leadership to sustain ongoing programmes in agriculture, infrastructure, economic development and social empowerment across the state.
