A former member of the Federal Board of the Sokoto Rima Basin Development Authority, Hon. James Nwogha Nwite, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing irreconcilable internal crises and persistent leadership challenges within the party.
Nwite, who also served as the 2023 Coordinator of the New Nigeria Peoples Party Presidential Campaign Council in Ebonyi State, announced his resignation in a letter dated May 3, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of ADC in Ndiegu Ishieke Ward, Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The former federal board member said the lingering internal disputes and leadership issues within the party had made his continued stay in ADC untenable.
“I hereby formally resign my membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective today, 3rd May, 2026.
“This decision is necessitated by irreconcilable internal crises and persistent leadership challenges within the party, which have made my continued membership untenable,” the letter partly read.
Nwite expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for the opportunity to serve during his time in the ADC.
The politician, who is currently the Coordinator of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement in Ebonyi State, told journalists that he has joined Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC as his next political destination.
His exit adds to the growing wave of defections and political recalculations among stakeholders across political parties in Ebonyi State as preparations for the next election cycle gather momentum.
