Supporters and political stakeholders across Ebonyi and Ohaukwu Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State have continued to celebrate the emergence of Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalagu, popularly known as “T-Man,” as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogalagu emerged unopposed during the party’s primary election held at Grace Garden and Event Centre, Ohaukwu Local Government Area, amid large turnout of party faithful, supporters, youth groups and political associates from across the constituency.
The exercise, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and party observers, ended peacefully with widespread celebrations among supporters.
Following his emergence, several groups and individuals described the development as a reflection of growing grassroots support and renewed hope for effective representation in the constituency.
In a congratulatory message, Chief Barrister Clement Omenkannaya Odah described Ogalagu’s emergence as “a testament of hope and better days” for the people of Ebonyi and Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.
According to him, “Light is coming,” noting that many residents were desirous of what he termed quality and people-oriented representation at the National Assembly.
Odah further commended Ogalagu’s grassroots engagement, empowerment programmes and political mobilisation across the constituency, expressing confidence in his ability to attract democratic dividends to the area if elected.
Similarly, the Forum of Ohaukwu Comrades of Ebonyi State (FOC-EB) congratulated Ogalagu on his emergence, describing it as recognition of his years of commitment to youth empowerment and community development.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Nwede Chinonso Ede, the group urged the APGA candidate to sustain issue-based and peaceful campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.
The forum noted that the constituency needed leaders capable of delivering effective representation and promoting the interests of the people at the federal level.
Also reacting, Coordinator of T-MAN Support Group in Ishingbo Ward II, Ogba Chinonso Eze, said Ogalagu’s victory reflected the trust and confidence many supporters had in his leadership style and philanthropic activities.
He maintained that the overwhelming turnout witnessed during the primary election demonstrated the readiness of supporters to work towards his victory in the general election.
In another congratulatory message, Dr. Bernard Idah described Ogalagu’s nomination as “a recognition of service rendered,” citing his empowerment initiatives and grassroots interventions through the Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation.
According to him, the APGA candidate had earned the confidence of many constituents through sustained humanitarian activities and support for young people across the constituency.
Meanwhile, youth groups and supporters under the platform of the T-MAN Movement declared that the political structure backing Ogalagu’s ambition remained “unstoppable” ahead of the 2027 polls.
The groups, in separate statements, expressed optimism that the APGA candidate would record strong electoral support across communities within Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.
Speaking after his emergence, Ogalagu appreciated party members and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, describing his nomination as a collective mandate rooted in grassroots support.
He pledged to pursue inclusive representation, people-oriented leadership and development-focused programmes if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027.
The APGA candidate further commended the peaceful conduct of the primary election and expressed confidence in the ability of democratic institutions to ensure credible electoral processes ahead of the general elections.
The event also witnessed political mobilisation and renewed campaign activities among supporters across Ohaukwu and Ebonyi Local Government Areas.
