The Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, has congratulated Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the forthcoming general election, describing him as a true democrat whose administration has transformed Ebonyi State and restored hope among the people.
Nwali stated that the peaceful conduct of the APC governorship primary election was a clear reflection of Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to internal democracy, unity, inclusiveness and people-oriented leadership.
In a statement issued in Abakaliki on Saturday, the council chairman said the governor’s victory at the primary election was not only well deserved but also a demonstration of the overwhelming confidence and acceptance he enjoys across the state owing to his developmental achievements and visionary leadership.
She noted that the people of Ezza South Local Government Area came out en masse during the primary election to overwhelmingly support the governor as a mark of appreciation for what she described as his purposeful governance and remarkable infrastructural strides across the state.
According to her, Governor Nwifuru’s administration has ushered in a new era of transformation, progress and sustainable development through the construction and rehabilitation of strategic roads, bridges, public buildings, schools and healthcare facilities aimed at improving the living standards of the people.
The chairman particularly commended the construction of the state’s international airport, describing it as one of the biggest infrastructural achievements in Ebonyi State with the potential to position the state in the global economy, generate revenue and create employment opportunities for youths.
She also praised the governor’s commitment to human capital development through scholarship schemes, youth empowerment programmes, skills acquisition initiatives and support for entrepreneurs, saying the programmes had continued to empower young people and expand economic opportunities in the state.
Nwali further lauded the administration’s agricultural support programmes, industrialisation efforts, provision of potable water and job creation initiatives in both the public and private sectors, stressing that the policies had significantly reduced unemployment and improved the living conditions of many families.
She equally commended the governor for improving workers’ welfare through salary increments and better working conditions for civil servants, noting that the gesture had brought renewed motivation and commitment among workers in the state.
The Ezza South chairman further highlighted the establishment of ICT University, Oferekpe, and the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering, Onueke, alongside scholarship opportunities granted to students within and outside the country, as evidence of Governor Nwifuru’s determination to build future leaders for Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
She maintained that the governor’s leadership style, anchored on humility, accessibility, transparency and service, had continued to attract admiration from within and outside the state.
Nwali prayed for greater wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the governor as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state, expressing optimism that his administration would record more enduring legacies in the years ahead.
