Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalagu, popularly known as T-Man and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, has commenced a rural electrification project in Ndiagu Agba, Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The project, being executed through the Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation, involves the installation of concrete electric poles spanning more than two kilometres to facilitate the extension of electricity supply to the community.
According to community leaders, the intervention followed a request made to Ogalagu by residents of Ndiagu Agba just a week ago.
The foundation's delegation to the project site was led by Chief Onyeoma Kelechi-Agbo, the APGA candidate for the Ohaukwu South State Constituency in the 2027 elections.
Speaking during the event, Kelechi-Agbo described Ogalagu as a committed leader whose interventions in the areas of empowerment, scholarships and employment opportunities have positively impacted residents across the federal constituency.
He said the electrification project was another demonstration of Ogalagu's commitment to improving the living conditions of rural communities.
Also speaking, Pastor Chinedu Inyima commended Ogalagu for responding promptly to the needs of the people.
He described the project as a significant step towards improving socio-economic activities in the area and enhancing the quality of life of residents.
The Village Chairman, Mr Christopher Esheya; the EDDC Community Committee Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Attah; the Youth Leader, Comrade Uchechukwu Elom; and the Women Leader, Mrs Lovina Odoh, expressed appreciation to the founder of the Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation for the intervention.
They described the electrification initiative as one of the most impactful social amenities brought to the community since the creation of Ebonyi State.
The community leaders pledged their support for Ogalagu's political ambition ahead of the 2027 elections and urged him to sustain his developmental efforts across the constituency.
Residents, who turned out in large numbers, celebrated the commencement of the project with songs and chants, describing Ogalagu as a beacon of hope for the community.
Workers were seen at the project site installing the electric poles, which are expected to extend power supply through adjoining communities, including the area leading to the country home of Senator Anthony Agbo, former lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
