Nnanna, who is also the Senior Prefect of the school, scored 98 in Mathematics, 98 in Physics, 91 in Chemistry and 69 in English Language, making him the highest-scoring candidate from Ebonyi State and one of the top performers nationwide.
The outstanding performance has attracted widespread commendation from education stakeholders, who described the achievement as a reflection of hard work, discipline and academic excellence.
According to the Principal of King David Gifted Academy, Abakaliki, Rev. Sis. Dr. Onyeukwu Veronica E., Nnanna's success did not come by chance but was the product of years of dedication to learning and personal development.
She disclosed that the student maintained an exceptional academic record throughout his stay in the school, consistently occupying the first position from Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) to Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) and recording cumulative averages of not less than 95 per cent in every academic term.
The principal further noted that Nnanna had represented the school in several local and national academic competitions, winning numerous awards and distinctions.
Describing him as a highly intelligent and diligent student, she said his academic achievements and leadership qualities earned him the position of Senior Prefect of the school as well as Speaker of the Ebonyi State Children's Parliament.
"Obasi Victor Nnanna is an exceptionally brilliant student whose commitment to excellence has remained consistent over the years. His achievement in the 2026 UTME is a testament to his hard work, discipline and passion for learning," she said.
She added that the student's outstanding performance has become a source of inspiration to other students within the school and across Ebonyi State.
Ebonyi people have also hailed the feat, describing it as a significant achievement for the state and a demonstration of the quality of students being produced by educational institutions in Ebonyi.
They said that Nnanna's result has further strengthened King David Gifted Academy's reputation for academic excellence and has placed both the student and the institution in the national spotlight.
