By Victor Nwegede, Abakaliki.
The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, has distributed 5,000 bags of fertiliser, rice seedlings and ₦50 million in financial support to farmers and other beneficiaries across his constituency as part of efforts to boost agricultural production and strengthen food security.
The empowerment programme, held at Blessed Martins College of Nursing Sciences, Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, drew a large crowd of farmers, traditional leaders, party faithful, support groups and other stakeholders.
Ogah said the intervention was aimed at complementing the food security initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the agricultural development agenda of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, under the People's Charter of Needs.
He noted that the distribution of farm inputs and financial assistance would enhance agricultural productivity, improve rural livelihoods and encourage increased food production across the constituency.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to delivering people-oriented programmes that directly impact the lives of his constituents, stressing that agriculture remains a critical sector for economic growth and poverty reduction.
He attributed his achievements in office to the support and leadership provided by President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, assuring them of the continued loyalty and support of the people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency.
Ogah also pledged that the constituency would deliver overwhelming electoral support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, party leaders and government officials commended the federal lawmaker for what they described as his consistent commitment to grassroots development through empowerment programmes, scholarships, constituency projects and regular engagement with the people.
Representing the Ebonyi State Chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, Hon. Chinedu Alphonsus Nwali described Ogah as a worthy ambassador of the party whose performance had continued to strengthen public confidence in the APC.
He urged constituents to sustain their support for the lawmaker and other APC candidates to consolidate the gains of good governance in the state.
Also speaking, representatives of the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, and other stakeholders applauded Ogah's developmental strides, expressing confidence that the people would reciprocate his performance with greater support in future elections.
The event underscored the APC's commitment to promoting food security, economic empowerment and inclusive governance through targeted agricultural interventions aimed at improving the welfare of rural communities.
