The Royal Elites Club, Abakaliki, has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chikaodili Ojimba, for the Ebonyi North Senatorial District seat ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise its members and supporters for his electoral victory.
The group announced its position on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, when its members, led by the National President, Chukwuma Oyibe, paid a solidarity and support visit to Ojimba at his residence in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Oyibe said the endorsement was informed by Ojimba’s antecedents in business, humanitarian intervention, youth mentorship, community development and empowerment, describing him as a philanthropist whose contributions had impacted individuals and communities across the senatorial district.
He said Ojimba had, through his private ventures and humanitarian initiatives, demonstrated a sustained commitment to alleviating the socio-economic challenges confronting vulnerable persons while creating opportunities for young people to develop their capacities and become self-reliant.
According to him, the club’s decision was not merely political but a recognition of what it described as Ojimba’s capacity, accessibility and track record of service to humanity.
Oyibe urged the people of Ebonyi North to look beyond partisan considerations and support candidates with demonstrable records of service, competence and commitment to the collective interest of the people.
He assured Ojimba that the club would deploy its structures and networks towards galvanising support for his aspiration, stressing that the 2027 senatorial contest presented an opportunity for the electorate to demand accountable, responsive and result-oriented representation.
Other speakers at the event, including Comrade Peter Uguru and Engineer Andrew Nwovu, commended Ojimba for what they described as his growing influence in human capital development, youth empowerment and community-oriented initiatives.
They maintained that Ojimba had distinguished himself as a rallying point for people seeking empowerment, mentorship and socio-economic advancement, urging him to remain steadfast in his aspiration to represent Ebonyi North in the Senate.
The speakers also recalled Ojimba’s previous efforts to secure the Ebonyi North senatorial mandate, alleging that political circumstances and opposition from rivals frustrated his earlier bid.
They, however, expressed optimism that the political landscape had changed and pledged to mobilise support across the district to ensure that his current aspiration received overwhelming backing at the polls.
The group called on other political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women and professional bodies across Ebonyi North to assess the aspirants based on their antecedents, capacity and proposed agenda for legislative representation.
Responding, Ojimba, who is also the National President of Izzi Elite, expressed appreciation to the Royal Elites Club for the endorsement and solidarity.
He described the gesture as a demonstration of confidence that would further strengthen his resolve to pursue the senatorial contest, promising not to betray the trust reposed in him by the group and other supporters.
Ojimba pledged that, if elected, he would pursue effective, accessible and people-centred representation, with emphasis on legislation, constituency development, youth empowerment, education, economic opportunities and policies capable of improving the welfare of constituents.
He said his legislative agenda would be anchored on meaningful representation and impactful contributions to national development, promising to maintain regular engagement with constituents and ensure that their concerns receive appropriate attention at the National Assembly.
He appealed for sustained unity and issue-based political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that the collective interest of Ebonyi North should remain paramount in the political choices of the people.
Meanwhile, the Royal Elites Club members, in a show of solidarity, appeared in branded face caps, T-shirts and other campaign-related materials bearing messages of support for Ojimba.
The development, according to observers at the event, underscored the growing mobilisation around the APGA candidate as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The solidarity visit ended with renewed assurances from the club leadership that it would intensify consultations, grassroots mobilisation and advocacy in support of Ojimba’s bid to represent Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the Senate.
