Ebonyi State is today celebrating the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, fondly called "Ogba-Nkpu Nwogbee", as she marks her birthday amid an outpouring of goodwill messages, prayers and commendations from well-wishers.
The birthday celebration has provided an opportunity for many people to reflect on the humanitarian contributions of Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, particularly her commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society through the Better Life for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO) Foundation. Mrs. Nwifuru has continued to attract commendations for her efforts towards improving the lives of people in need.
Speaking to newsmen, Ebonyi State commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Uchenna Stephen Igwe, described Mrs Nwifuru as a woman with a compassionate heart. He pointed out that the humanitarian activities of the Ebonyi governor's wife have touched the lives of numerous Ebonyians, including rural women, children and internally displaced persons.
In Hon. Igwe's words, "On this special day of the birth anniversary of our dearest mother and wife of the governor of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudlyn Uzoamaka Nwifuru, my family and I celebrate her for being a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering faith who believed in her husband (my father) during the days of very humble beginning. Her Excellency's patience along the line is a great inspiration that stands tall for all generations
"Her Excellency's heart of succour has been a remarkable source of blessing and uplift to many Ebonyians, including myself. Through the Better Life for Rural Women, Children and Internally-displaced Persons (BERWO) foundation the Ebonyi first lady has made unforgettable impacts in the lives of the underprivileged, internally-displaced persons, and the physically-challenged in Ebonyi State; hence, the outpour of commendations and encomia on the woman of honour from humanists across the globe."
Speaking further, the commissioner in charge of Ebonyi grassroots described Mrs Nwifuru as "a true pillar of encouragement and mother to Ebonyi people".
While wishing Mrs Nwifuru many happy returns, he prayed God, "to continue to bless Mrs Nwifuru with good health, joy, and many more years of impactful service to humanity".
