The General Manager of Ebonyi Transport Service (EBOTRANS), Mrs Emma Igwe, has said the developmental projects executed by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration across Ishielu Local Government Area will earn the All Progressives Congress (APC) massive votes in the forthcoming Ebonyi State local government elections.
Mrs Igwe, wife of the senior aide to the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State stated this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists during the APC campaign rally held at the Ishielu Local Government Area headquarters in Ezillo, ahead of the August 22, 2026 council elections.
She said the governor’s visible interventions in roads, housing, water supply, traditional institutions and other critical sectors had demonstrated what she described as the administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the people at the grassroots.
According to her, the people of Ishielu have witnessed tangible development under the Nwifuru administration and would reciprocate the governor’s efforts through their support for APC candidates at the polls.
She specifically cited the Ezillo-Ezzaegu Road, Ezillo-Izzo Housing Estate, construction of palaces for traditional rulers and the revitalisation of the Ezillo Water Scheme among the projects she said had positively impacted the people of the area.
“Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated that government can truly be brought closer to the people through projects that directly touch their lives.
“The people of Ishielu can see these projects and feel their impact. We are confident that they will reciprocate the governor’s good works with massive support for the APC,” she said.
Mrs Igwe said the governor’s development agenda had gone beyond political promises, stressing that the administration had continued to invest in infrastructure and other sectors with the aim of accelerating development across the state.
She urged the people of Ishielu to remain united and support the APC candidates in the August 22 council elections, describing the election as an opportunity for the people to consolidate the gains recorded under the present administration.
“We should continue to support the administration of Governor Nwifuru because development is not achieved through words alone. What matters is the impact of government projects on the lives of ordinary people.
“I believe the people of Ishielu will stand firmly with the APC because they have seen the difference and they appreciate the efforts of the governor,” she added.
She also called on women and youths in the council area to participate actively in the electoral process and support candidates capable of sustaining development at the grassroots.
According to her, women and young people have important roles to play in ensuring that the gains of the administration are sustained through effective representation at the local government level.
Emma further appealed to APC supporters and stakeholders to maintain peace, unity and discipline throughout the campaign and election period, saying the party’s victory should be achieved through mobilisation, issue-based campaigns and peaceful engagement with voters.
She expressed confidence that the APC would record a decisive victory in Ishielu, given what she described as the level of acceptance enjoyed by the governor and the party across the council area.
She said the support for the APC should also extend beyond the August 22 local government elections, urging the people to sustain their backing for the administration and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
“The people have a responsibility to protect and sustain the development they are witnessing. By supporting the APC, they are supporting continuity, stability and the consolidation of ongoing projects across Ishielu and Ebonyi State,” she said.
She therefore urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, reach out to undecided voters and work collectively for the success of all APC candidates in the council elections.
