A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Hon. Abel Uzodimma Nwozaka, has begun mobilising support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s re-election bid, saying the governor’s performance in key sectors has justified the demand for continuity in 2027.
Nwozaka, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Rice Mill and Manager of Ebonyi Rice World, Ikwo Cluster, said the state could consolidate its ongoing development programmes if the administration was given the opportunity to continue beyond its first tenure.
The APC chieftain stated this while interacting with journalists in Abakaliki, the state capital, where he canvassed support for Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He hinged his support for the governor on what he described as visible interventions in pension and gratuity payments, education, youth development, infrastructure and grassroots development, among other areas.
According to him, the administration’s implementation of the People’s Charter of Needs has translated into programmes and projects that, in his assessment, require continuity for their full impact to be realised.
Nwozaka particularly commended the governor over the payment of outstanding pension and gratuity obligations to retired civil servants, as well as the sponsorship of Ebonyi youths for local and foreign scholarship programmes.
He also cited the establishment of two new universities and other interventions in the education sector as evidence of the administration’s commitment to human capital development.
“Governor Nwifuru has performed creditably well in all sectors and deserves to be re-elected in order to take Ebonyi State to the global map of development,” he said.
The governor’s aide vowed to deploy his political structure at the grassroots in support of the re-election campaign, declaring that his ward would deliver overwhelming support for the APC in the 2027 poll.
Nwozaka specifically expressed confidence in the party’s strength in Okpuitumo Ward 12, promising that the ward would vote massively for Nwifuru and other APC candidates.
“I want to simply say that in terms of Okpuitumo Ward 12, Governor Nwifuru should go and sleep as APC will win before 12 o’clock.
“I want to tell him that in Okpuitumo Ward 12, APC is the voice. We will vote from top to bottom,” he said.
He added that the party’s grassroots mobilisation would leave no stone unturned in securing victory for its candidates.
“No stone will be left unturned in ensuring that APC is returned 100 per cent and there is no two ways about it. It is APC in Okpuitumo Ward 12 or nothing,” Nwozaka declared.
He urged youths across the state to take ownership of the development initiatives of the government and participate actively in the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.
Nwozaka said continued investment in education, infrastructure and human capital development would provide greater opportunities for young people and strengthen the state’s economic prospects.
He maintained that the governor’s record in office provided sufficient basis for his call for continuity, urging supporters of the administration to intensify grassroots engagement and voter mobilisation.
“There is no vacancy in the Ebonyi State Government House in 2027,” he declared.
Nwozaka further assured the governor of his personal commitment to the re-election project, saying he would work with party stakeholders and supporters at the ward level to advance the APC’s campaign ahead of the election.
