Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a prominent stakeholder in Ezekuna-Alioma Autonomous Community, Ebonyi State, Hon. Awo Chinedu, has rallied community stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress to support the re-election bid of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Awo made the declaration on Thursday while hosting the Ebonyi State APC Deputy Chairman, Chief Alphonsus Chinedu Nwali, in Ezekuna-Alioma, where he pledged what he described as the “total and unalloyed” support of the community for the APC-led administration and Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 polls.
The meeting, which attracted community elders, political stakeholders and party faithful, was marked by expressions of solidarity with the governor and the APC, with Awo attributing the community's support to what he described as the administration's development initiatives, peaceful disposition and inclusive governance.
Awo said the policies and programmes of the Nwifuru administration had strengthened confidence in government among residents of the community and enhanced their commitment to the APC.
He commended the governor for what he described as his “people-centric” leadership, saying the administration had demonstrated commitment to equitable governance and grassroots development.
According to him, the prevailing peace and development recorded under the administration had further reinforced the political consciousness of the people of Ezekuna-Alioma.
“The developmental strides, unprecedented tranquillity and equitable governance engendered by Governor Nwifuru have irrevocably galvanised the political consciousness of Ezekuna-Alioma,” Awo said.
He assured the APC leadership that the community would remain firmly behind the party and would mobilise support for Nwifuru in the 2027 election.
Awo said, “We reaffirm our total loyalty to the APC-led administration. We are resolute and unalloyed in our support, and we will continue to mobilise our people for the success of the party.”
He added, “Ezekuna-Alioma is APC, and APC is Ezekuna-Alioma. The mandate is secured.”
The community leader also expressed appreciation to God for what he described as His sustenance of the people of Wigbeke 2, while urging residents and party supporters to sustain peace and unity.
Nwali, who led the APC delegation to the community, interacted with stakeholders and party members during the visit, as the party continued its grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
The APC deputy chairman's visit provided an opportunity for the state party leadership to interface directly with community stakeholders and party faithful on issues concerning the party's activities and mobilisation.
The gathering also witnessed renewed calls for unity among APC members and stakeholders, with participants stressing the importance of grassroots mobilisation in strengthening the party's structure ahead of future elections.
Awo's declaration came amid ongoing political activities across Ebonyi State as parties and political stakeholders intensify consultations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders at the meeting subsequently reaffirmed their support for the APC and the administration of Governor Nwifuru, while expressing readiness to participate actively in the party's grassroots mobilisation efforts.
