The Executive Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Chidiebere Onyemachi Alo has vowed to deliver the council hundred percent to APC come 2027 general elections, insisting that no ward or polling unit would lost votes to opposition parties.
He stated this shortly after officially taken over the mantle of leadership at Nkaliki, the headquarters of the council.
The council boss noted that his party APC would record landslide victory across Abakaliki Local Government Area come 2027 general elections. "We will not lose any ward or polling unit to opposition parties" He said
Alo urged people of the council to demonstrate the commitment and dedication shown during local Government election to the 2027 general elections to deliver Governor Nwifuru and other APC candidates so as to reap more dividends of democracy in the area.
He further urged Abakaliki people to give him their massive support and solidarity throughout his administration, promising never to disappoint them.
He noted that his administration is ever ready to step down Governor Nwifuru's Peoples charter of needs mantra down to the grassroots.
While handing over to his successor, the immediate past chairman of the council Chief Stephen Ebere nwogba thanked God for given him the opportunity to serve people of the council and urged his successor to discharge his duties with the fear of God for the growth and development of Abakaliki Local Government Area while praying for God's divine guidance and protection upon him throughout his tenure in office.
Nwogba urged people of the council to redouble the support they gave to him during his reign to the new chairman so as to succeed.
He thereafter handed over vehicles and other official properties of the council to his successor Hon. Chidiebere Onyemachi Alo.
The SSA to the Governor on education Hon. Peter Nwogbaga congratulated the chairman on his new position and thanked members of Ikeduoha Foundation ably led by Prince Ikechukwu Uzor Igwe for their efforts in ensuring that the dream was achieved.
The Governor's aide urged members of the foundation to show full support to the chairman's policies and programmes at all times, especially as it concerns the 2027 general elections to enable APC record landslide victory in the council.
On behalf of workers, the chairman of NULGE in Abakaliki LGA Mr. Nwophor Nwabueze assured total support of workers to the chairman towards ensuring the success of his administration.
The Coordinator of Enyida development centre Rt. Hon. Ruben Edeh described the chairman as a grassroots politician who knows the nooks and crannies of the council and expressed optimism that Hon. Chidiebere Alo would sustain the tempo of peace and development of his predecessors, assuring that coordinators would work in cordiality with the chairman to take the council to the greater height.
Others who spoke including, husband to the vice chairman Prince Chidi Nwobashi and coordinator of Ikeduoha Foundation Prince Ikechukwu Uzor Igwe promised to work in synergy with the chairman to inject unprecedented development in the council
The event was witnessed by the former chairman of the council and APC candidate for Abakaliki South Constituency Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele, SSA to the Governor on infrastructural maintenance Hon. Ben Nwovu among others.
