…Federal Commissioner cites new classrooms, modern facilities across Ebonyi’s 13 LGAs, urges voters to finish what they started
A Federal Commissioner representing Ebonyi State at the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Barr. Vincent Nwokpor, has canvassed support for the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in 2027, citing the administration’s interventions in the education sector as evidence of its commitment to human capital development.
Nwokpor, through his media aide, Mazi Nwokpor Jonathan, said the governor’s investments in the construction and rehabilitation of school infrastructure across the state had provided pupils and students with more conducive learning environments.
He urged Ebonyians to support the governor for a second term, arguing that continuity was necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete projects initiated by the administration.
The Federal Commissioner said: “Not too long ago, many of our children in the villages sat in broken classrooms with leaking roofs, learning under conditions no child should ever face. Today, that has changed.”
According to him, the administration has constructed new primary and secondary school facilities across the state, equipped with modern classrooms and learning facilities.
He said the projects were particularly significant because they were spread across Ebonyi’s 13 local government areas, thereby extending government’s education intervention beyond the state capital to rural communities.
Nwokpor said the emerging infrastructure represented a practical demonstration of the governor’s stated commitment to education rather than mere political rhetoric.
“Across all the 13 local government areas in Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has built new primary and secondary schools with modern classrooms, equipment and technology, giving our children a proper place to learn,” he said.
He added that the development was helping to reduce disparities in access to quality educational infrastructure between urban and rural communities.
The commissioner further said the governor’s education agenda should be viewed within the broader context of investments in the future of Ebonyi’s children, insisting that quality infrastructure remained a critical component of effective teaching and learning.
Recent reports indicate that the state government has also approved a Smart Education project for 43 secondary schools, involving digital learning infrastructure, smart interactive boards, artificial-intelligence classrooms and virtual laboratories.
Nwokpor maintained that the visible projects should inform the electorate’s assessment of the administration ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He said: “This is not a promise. It is something you can see and touch. Governor Nwifuru said from the beginning that education mattered to him, and he backed it up with real action until these schools were finished and standing today.”
He therefore called on Ebonyians to sustain what he described as the administration’s development trajectory by renewing Nwifuru’s mandate in 2027.
“In 2027, the choice before us is simple: vote for a man who has the plight of the people at heart, vote for the will of the people, and vote for the man already proving what he can do,” Nwokpor said.
He urged the electorate to support the governor’s re-election to enable the administration consolidate its programmes and complete ongoing development initiatives.
