The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated former governor of the state and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, on his 72nd birthday, describing him as an “iconic achiever” whose footprints in Osun State and Nigeria would endure.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the state APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, said Oyetola’s birthday was an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to public service and governance.
Lawal described Oyetola as “a great achiever of all time, an accomplished statesman and a distinguished servant of the people,” noting that his public career had been marked by discipline, humility, competence and dedication to service.
He said Oyetola’s tenure as governor remained an important chapter in the political history of Osun, while his current assignment at the federal level had provided another opportunity to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
According to him, Oyetola’s work in the Marine and Blue Economy sector had focused on areas including maritime development, revenue generation, port reforms, indigenous shipping and the expansion of Nigeria’s blue-economy potential.
“Oyetola is a great achiever of all time. His life is a testimony to what discipline, patience, competence and dedication to public service can achieve.
“From Osun to the national stage, he has continued to leave enviable footprints wherever responsibility has placed him,” Lawal said.
The APC chairman also acknowledged Oyetola’s leadership style, describing him as a leader of “uncommon composure and enduring values.”
He urged the former governor to see his 72nd birthday as another milestone in his service to the people, while praying for his continued good health, wisdom and strength.
“On behalf of the Osun State APC family, I celebrate our leader, His Excellency, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola.
“May Allah continue to bless you, preserve you and grant you many more fruitful years in the service of our people and our nation,” Lawal said.
