The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has expressed confidence in its prospects of securing victory across all elective positions in the 2027 general elections, from the presidency to the State House of Assembly.
The state chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, stated this while addressing journalists after a meeting with party stakeholders, candidates and local government chairmen at the APC state secretariat in Abakaliki.
Emegha urged residents of the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the elections, describing the cards as essential instruments for exercising their democratic rights.
“Every Ebonyian should go and collect his or her Permanent Voter Card. I am appealing to them to use the cards to cast their votes on election day because the PVC is their strength,” he said.
The APC chairman explained that the meeting was convened to acquaint candidates with the party’s guidelines, identify challenges and resolve internal disagreements that could undermine its electoral fortunes.
He added that sustained consultations would help address candidates’ concerns and reconcile aggrieved members dissatisfied with the outcomes of the party’s primaries.
The senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District and Deputy Chief Whip of the 10th Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, also expressed confidence in the party’s chances, citing the performance of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration and the APC’s standing in the state.
Nwebonyi reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continued engagement with its members and stakeholders ahead of the elections, stressing the importance of maintaining unity and consolidating its political support base.
Similarly, the APC candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Ekuma Nkama, expressed optimism about the party’s electoral prospects, attributing his confidence to what he described as its delivery of democratic dividends.
Nkama said the party was determined to secure victory for its candidates at every level of government, including the presidency, Senate, House of Representatives and state Houses of Assembly.
He maintained that effective mobilisation, internal cohesion and sustained engagement with voters would be crucial to achieving the party’s electoral objectives in 2027.
The meeting comes amid preparations by political parties for the next general elections, with the APC leadership in Ebonyi seeking to strengthen internal coordination, address grievances arising from its primaries and mobilise support across the state.
The party’s leadership urged members and candidates to work collectively towards its electoral goals, while encouraging eligible residents to obtain their PVCs and exercise their franchise in the forthcoming elections.
