The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has congratulated Nigerians and the people of Ebonyi State on the 66th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria and the 30th anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State.
Ogah, in a goodwill message marking the twin celebrations, commended the resilience, hard work and enterprise of Nigerians, particularly the people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, while urging citizens to remain committed to peace, unity and sustainable development.
He also commended the Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for what he described as continued investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development and workers’ welfare under the administration’s People’s Charter of Needs.
The federal lawmaker highlighted the reported provision of more than 1,000 local and overseas scholarships, development of the University of ICT and University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering, construction of 43 model secondary schools and enrolment of 137,133 residents in the State Health Insurance Scheme as some of the interventions of the administration.
Ogah also cited the recruitment of more than 2,000 workers across critical sectors and continued attention to pensions and gratuities as measures aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
According to him, the anniversaries provide an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the journey so far, appreciate the progress recorded and renew their collective commitment to building a more prosperous society.
“As your representative in the National Assembly, I remain committed to working with all levels of government and stakeholders to advance the interests of my constituents and contribute to the continued progress of Ebonyi State,” Ogah said.
He called for sustained collaboration among political leaders, traditional institutions, community leaders and citizens to consolidate development gains and address emerging challenges.
The lawmaker particularly saluted the people of Ebonyi for their resilience and contributions to the growth and development of the state, saying their collective efforts remained critical to the state’s future.
He urged citizens to preserve peace and unity in their communities, stressing that social cohesion remained essential to attracting investment, improving livelihoods and sustaining development.
Ogah said: “I celebrate every Ebonyian whose hard work, resilience and contributions continue to make our State proud.
“May our unity remain our strength, may peace continue to prevail in our communities, and may Nigeria and Ebonyi State continue to prosper.”
He wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and Ebonyians a happy 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.
