The Honourable Commissioner, Ebonyi State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Business Development, Dr. Stephen Odo has engaged relevant stakeholders drawn from various MDAs in the State
with Ibeto Group on an interactive meeting on the efficacy and promotion of locally made Ibeto lubricants and possible plan for the establishment of Ibeto plant in Ebonyi.
In his speech, the Hon. Commissioner called the attention of the participants to the policies and programmes of Ebonyi State Government under Engr. David Nweze Umahi on the investment opportunities in Ebonyi State and the need for the engagement of private sectors to run the industrial sector and the economy of the State.
In his presentation, Engr. Vincent Ejike the team leader of Ibeto Group said that they were attracted to Ebonyi State as a result of an industrial tour led by the Hon. Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Business Development during the just concluded AFI Award held in Ebonyi anchored by the Ministry. He said that his team and other investors that stormed Ebonyi during the Africa Industry Award were taken to various industrial clusters, Abakaliki Shopping malls and other establishments by the State Government.
He made technical presentation of the efficacy and quality of Ibeto lubricants and promised that his company if allowed to invest in the state will contribute immensely to the growth of industrial sector in Ebonyi State.
Speaking during the programme, the Secretary to the State Government Dr. Kenneth Ugbala ably represented by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Augustine Nwuzor commended Dr. Stephen Odo for his commitment to the development of business and industrial activities in the State. He called on Ibeto group for more proactive measure, setting a standard for the use of their lubricants in the state for effective service delivery.
Part of the communique raised from the conference was that delegates will be raised from relevant MDAs to Ibeto Plant at Nnewi for quality test and assurance of Ibeto lubricants and replication of same in Ebonyi State.
In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Business Development Mrs. Ukwuta Ogonna appreciated Ibeto group for their quest to invest in Ebonyi, she assured any investor that indicates interest to invest in Ebonyi of conducive atmosphere, security and all relevant amenities that will enhance their successful outing in Ebonyi.
In attendance to the meeting were representatives from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Heads of Engineering and Transoirt Departments of Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry of Power and Energy, Ministry of Infrastructural Development for Concession, Ministry of Environment, Ebonyi State University, Ebonyi Transport Company (EBOTRANS) and Internal Revenue Service.
