The technical team of the Standard Organization of Nigeria(SON) has visited Ebonyi pipe production to witness the production process and procedure in readiness for certification of pipes produced in the state.
The visit was anchored by the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Business Development Dr. Stephen Odoh.
According to the commissioner, the visit centered on data collection, focused on the areas of scope, specifications, object Clause, product Marking, nominal Size, permissible Variations, among others.
Dr. Odo emphasized on a broad-based approach to the assessment for certification.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that the SON team led by Mrs. Nnanyereugo Maria assured the state that all processes will be captured since this is the first High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) production standard to be captured in Nigeria.
She also commended the effort of the state Governor, Engr David Umahi for taking this step worth emulating.
In attendance were; the General Manager, Ebonyi Pipe Production, Ezzangbo, Mr. Friday Omaba, the Production officer, Mr. Ituma Victor, and other staff of the Pipe Production company and Standard Organization of Nigeria.
