The Speaker of the Ebonyi House of Assembly, Mr Francis Nwifuru has urged the United Brothers Club, Abakaliki to effectively propagate the the state government's developmental strides.
Nwifuru made the remarks in Abakaliki during the club's end of the award ceremony where various individuals and groups were recognised for outstanding strides in the political and socio-economic sectors.
The speaker who received an award of excellence in leadership astuteness and capacity building, said that the the massive turnaround of Ebonyi infrastructurally should be effective propagated.
"This will inspire other leaders at all levels of goverrnance in the country to prudently utilise available resources for the people's benefit.
"Ebonyi has been turned into a preferred destination in economic and infrastructural development and Nigerians should be duly aware of the this fact.
"I also urge the citizens to freely contribute their quota to the development of the state for the benefit of all.
He noted that for any association to be adequately sustained, it must leverage on the basis of its formation.
"It is gladening to note that the group invests heavily in charitable endeavours and strenghtens its bond with other groups and various governmental interests.
"I thank the organisers for the award bestowed on me and others and pledge to contribute my quota to the development of the group.
The club's President, Hon. Charles Akpuenika said the club was founded to foster unity among members and encourage selfless services for the betterment of the society.
Akpuenika who is also the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, said that the group's membership cuts across various political affiliations.
"We however support leaders who optimally discharges their duties towards the people and contribute our quota towards the attainment of good goveenance.
"Individuals who received various awards at this event have distinguished themselves in the service of humanity.
He appreciated Governor David Umahi for his developmental strides and pledged the group's support for his administration.
Chief Benjamin Okah-- Chairman, Elders Council, Local Government Area chairmen, captains of industries among others were also honoured at the event.
