The new leadership of Okposi Okwu Development Union in Ebonyi State, has risen strongly against activities of the money-bag-politicians, warning the community people to be wary of them as the 2023 general electioneering activities are gradually gaining weight of reality across the country.
Chief John Osi, the newly elected President General of the union gave this advice, Saturday immediately after his election at Oye-Okwu, the ancestral home of Okposi Okwu in Ohazara Local Government Area of the state.
Osi who noted that the activities of the money bag politicians have badly affected the nation’s democracy, urged the people not to vote for them in 2023 elections.
The President advised the people to identify with popular party which would help them win during the elections.
He urged the people to get their voter card ready to elect the candidates of the choices during the elections.
Osi asked the people to support the Union's newly elected officials, and to work together for the general wellbeing of the community.
He noted that no leader would be successful without followers, and however, advised the people to be united in order to make greater progress in the community while steering the leadership of the union.
“We need your support. Leadership is nothing without the followers and I am very sure looking at the faces of everybody present here and those that didn’t come, we shall get your full support. And so, on behalf of other elected members, that we will do our ought most. We are going to do much more in our community.
“I want to let you know we have faced serious challenges as a community and first and foremost is unity, that is the most important one. We need to be united to make the progress we are expected to make.
“I know people are expecting much from us in terms of unifying our community. If you are in doubt, these new group will make the palace, they king the pinnacle of authority in our community .We shall put all that happened in the past behind and move forward in this community," Osi said.
