The Ebonyi state Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Charles Akpuenika has charged the Association of Urban Town Unions in the state to remain unshaken and steadfast in their support for Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state.
The Anambra-born commissioner gave the charge in Abakaliki during his New Year get together for the association as he charged them to be unequivocal, resolute and dogged in their support to the administration of the governor.
The 'Game Changer' as he is fondly called by admirers urged the leadership of the Association of Urban Town Unions to be closely knit, especially in their unalloyed and unwavering commitment to the success of Umahi administration.
"Governor Umahi is God sent to Ebonyi state and eminently qualified to occupy the exalted seat of the President of Nigeria come 2023.
"This is to enable him replicate his world class/ master piece achievements in the state to the Nigerian landscape.
He admonished them to be prayerful for a successful 2022 as they continue receiving more democratic dividends from the state government.
"The governor has shown unparalleled love for the urban community in the state through appointments/ election into various positions of authority.
"He also ensured that we benefit from several empowerment packages, opportunities to be employed in the state civil service among other interventions aimed at uplifting the people".
The commissioner said that the urban community owed the community appreciation by identifying with him as the 2023 elections approaches.
"I urge you to show unbridled love among yourselves for the desired unity which would enable us achieve our goals in 2022,".
The executive and members of the association took turns to extol Governor Umahi's virtues and his unparalleled show of love to the organisation.
They pledged to support the governor in all his endeavours while commending the commissioner for his masterful leadership of the urban community in the state.
