The members of the Great Izhi Sons and Daughters (GISAD) have declared their full support towards aggressive campaign for an Izhi man to become the governor of Ebonyi State come 2023.
The National President of the group, Comrade Nicholas Mbam stated this on Wednesday during the GISAD's national convention at Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital, calling his members to work together for the election of an Izhi man to become the governor of the state come 2023.
He observed that the group's 2022 new year get-together party became necessary as it availed the members the opportunity to discuss other issues affecting them.
He however, charged the members of the group to remain committed in promoting love, peace and unity among themselves, noting that "in 2023, it remains a great task on us to work together to elect an Izhi man into the governoship position of the state."
The National President noted that the members of GISAD who cut across all the 36 States of the Federation including Federal Capital Territory Abuja and abroad, have resolved to embark on sensitization on the continuous voter registration.
He stated that his leadership has declared that all the members of the group would henceforth, come home and register voter card at their respective Local Government Area.
According to him, "it is compulsory that every member of GISAD who are up to eighteen years and above must return before the general elections start proper to exercise his or her franchise, and I believe our campaign for Izhi man to become the next governor of Ebonyi State shall come into fruition."
He urged Izhi people to shun any divisive inclination, stressing that they should be ready at all times to support whosoever that may secure party ticket to run the governoship position in the state.
Also speaking, the Chairman of GISAD in Ebonyi State, Comrade Emmanuel Nwabueze Igboke urged all Izhi sons and daughters to always identify with their brothers wherever they meet them.
He appealed to the Izhi elites to understand that the restoration of their land is on their hands, urging them to support the movement for a greater accomplishments for the clan.
Other speakers during the occasion including Comrade Felix Nathaniel Mbam - Chairman Anambra branch, Comrade Amaechi Ogerenya - Vice Chairman Delta State, Igwe-Ebube-Dike I of GISAD Sunday Nkwegu, among others who preached for greater understanding, love, peace and unity among themselves, insisted on working tirelessly to ensure that Izhi man becomes Ebonyi State governor come 2023.
The climax of the event was the decorations of Amarachi Nwankwegu as Miss GIZAD I, while Uzomaka Emmanuel was honoured as Miss GISAD II of the year 2022.
