The All Progressives Congress, APC has agreed to produce consensus candidates following the party's national convention coming up Saturday 26th March 2022 at Abuja.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan announced this Thursday when President Muhammadu Buhari met with the APC founding fathers ahead of the party’s national convention at the residence State House.
While details of the meeting were yet to be clear, it is speculated to be part of deliberations ahead of the party’s national convention on Saturday.
Those at the meeting included Presidential aspirants, Ahmed Tinubu, Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari; Kaduna Governor, Nasir el-Rufai; Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnia Onu among others.
But Senate President Ahmed Lawan had also announced that the APC has agreed to produce consensus candidates and the party was expected to put out a ‘Unity List’ by Friday ahead of the national convention.
Meanwhile, the APC has announced the schedule for the convention.
