The Ebonyi State Shopping Mall which was constructed by Governor David Umahi's led administration has been handed over to the private sector for management.
Ebonyi Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr Orji Uche Orji made this known while briefing newsmen at the New Exco-Chambers, Ochudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.
According to him, "Exco approved the handover of Ebonyi State Shopping Mall to 3R Retail Company Ltd through a competitive bidding process to take over and manage the Mall for 6 months."
He added: "Exco examined the fate of 31 underaged children from the Effium community who were brainwashed into carrying arms during the crisis in Effium Community. These children have been on remand for about 3 months now.
"Exco approved that the HAG and CP should work on their release on a condition that each of them should get their parents or guardians (where their parents are dead) to effect their bail conditions. Each of the children is to swear an affidavit through their parents or guardians to be of good conduct."
He noted earlier that the "Exco approved the release of a vehicle to the State Judiciary for the newest Judge of the State Customary Court of Appeal. Exco noted the social media misrepresentations on the vehicles given to the State Executive by the State House of Assembly and directed that records be put straight on the matter. Contrary to the misrepresentations on Social Media, it was noted that Exco only released one vehicle to the State Judiciary for the newly appointed judge and that the vehicle is an entitlement and not a gift as misrepresented by some quarters in social media."
