Dr Richard Nabu, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Environment, Grants and Donor Agencies has been given 48 hours to declare for the governorship position of Ebonyi State.
An Organisation—Ebonyi Renaissance Movement, ERM, after emergency expanded stakeholders meeting on Monday, in Abakaliki urged Dr Nnabu to immediately within 48 hours declare for the state's number one position.
The group which spoke through its National Chairman, Chief Fred Iteshi, said of all the people angling for the guber position, Dr Richard Nnabu, a renowned Public Health Physician from all angles dwarf other aspirants both in PDP and APC.
According to Chief Iteshi, Ebonyi, being a state rich in solid minerals needs one with strong political will, an ideological understanding of reality in the context of governance to steady its ship of governance and Dr Nnabu is a sure bet.
“We have perused the credentials of all aspirants in all elective positions in Ebonyi state, especially the governorship position. There’s no gainsaying the fact Dr Richard Nnabu from Ezza South dwarfs all aspirants both in character and content.
“Ebonyi state is rich in solid minerals and other deposits. With Nnabu’s understanding of the reality of good governance having worked closely with the grandmaster of infrastructure, Engr. David Umahi, there is no doubt he will consolidate good governance in our dear Ebonyi state.
“This is not the time for politics, we need someone to steady the ship of governance in Ebonyi.
“Therefore, we the members of Ebonyi Rennaisance Movement are by this press briefing this afternoon after our expanded stakeholders meeting today, Monday, the 6th of April give Dr Richard Nnabu 48hours beginning from now to declare for the governorship of Ebonyi state”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the National Secretary of the group, Dr Oko Eluu and the Director, Women Mobilisation, Hon. (Mrs.) Florence Chinyere Odaah vowed to purchase a nomination form for Dr Nnabu.
