The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled the 31st of July 2022 to conduct a rerun primary election for the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone.
Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the state APC Chairman in Ebonyi disclosed this while handing over flags to the party's candidates in the forthcoming local government elections at the party's secretariat, Akanu Ibiam International Conference Centre, Abakaliki.
The Chairman said: "The re-run primary election will be conducted strictly in compliance with the Federal High Court's judgement of Friday 22nd July 2022."
He maintained that "APC is deeply grounded in administration and as such will do everything possible to eliminate skirmishes that could hinder or obstruct its victory at any election.
He further said: "We are not oblivion of the fact that any irregularity could be a thorn in the nearest future hence machinery are already in place to ensure another credible, transparent and peaceful exercise in Ebonyi South."
"For our candidates in the forthcoming Local Government Elections, please as we work tirelessly by canvassing for votes in a bid to win overwhelmingly, rejoice and make merry for the favour of Almighty God is upon you."
Meanwhile, the APC Chairmanship candidates of Abakaliki and Ebonyi Local Government Areas, Hon Stephen Ebere Nwogba and Prince Chinedu Augustine Uburu have assured of embarking on people's oriented programmes if they win the forthcoming council polls scheduled to hold on July 30, 2022.
