Egede Lawrence's media reflection on political controversies in Nigeria, READ ON.
As the advanced world is now coming out nuclear in almost everything including politics, I am taken aback intelligently in Nigeria where local politics of bickerings are the fashion of the day. It beats my imagination.
Why is it that instead of the Nigerian politicians minding their respective businesses, and campaigning normally they become so busy fighting and abusing one another as if one man can carry Nigeria alone?
Can quarrelling attract victory for any politician at the polls during elections anywhere?
If political offices were to be rendering services without pay can any politician contest it?
Is it not because of the fat pay and all the luxuries, immunity, impunity and freedom attached to the tax-free job that attract the politicians into a do-or-die competition against each other in politics, blocking their ways?
Nigerian politicians act as if the nation is hotcake for the dogs in the manger, at the scary and deprivation shop of the Chinese goodies, letting non have a way.
Yes, I don't blame those who harvest dry moles from the skeleton of the nation's broken wealth, to see her as hotcake alone for them that politically quarrel over the bridal baking tray or pan. Think about these.
Is Nigeria a bakery, or a baking pan, or a bride of the political feud, or a place of economic harvest and a dumping ground for bitter politics of messy vengeance?
When I remember that Nigeria has clocked 62 years already as a nation, it baffles me dizzy that politicians are not yet aware of what the nation is experiencing.
Even if they know it, the pamper of power, the cushion of riches, the overfed mental estate, the high level of benefits in politics and because they do not feel it as a task, with the business of moneymaking spree or affair blindfolding them, they will not see the ugliness of the bitter experiences others are having.
Only very few politicians see the deadness of the country's economy and lament but can do nothing to stop the stench.
Some politicians don't know that when the economy of a nation has gone irreparable there's no life in such a country.
We are faced with economic bereavement and our younger generation is in cruel trouble of mental stress, yet our so-called politicians are busy quarrelling over the spilt economic milk of Nigeria, attacking each other and using politics as a yardstick.
The worst of all is that foreign technologies, the automobile and communication industries, and other finished products are dominating the marketplaces, or have taken over the potential domestic economy so much so far that there is no remedy now.
Another bad Omen is that the younger generation in Nigeria is being brainwashed, to contract the local disease of bitterness in politics, with which they have become victims for immediate survival scope and new trends.
I laugh with tears of blood as the new trends are awash with the violence of speech, the violence of actions, the violence of everything and violence everywhere about local and mundane politics of the day with a red bleak future.
Our intellectuals who are alive and seeing what is going on are weakened to the bones, with all the psychological controversies mounting on top of each other.
They are begging the ground of survival, stability and certainty, to hold them firm first before any other thing inside crops up.
Those who are hirelings of controversies are at it with unruly languages of hatred everywhere causing trouble.
One other danger is that those who are gentle enough, to make amends in the present system of governance in Nigeria aren't given the political chance to do something. They are silenced.
At the moment some of those gentle ones, who performed miracles in leadership given the chance already are barehanded without the right tools for work.
Those Who dared to perform well under stress are having it hot, with the pessimists and the uninformed critical characters.
Those that are not performing well are against their rivals who do well in the job politically, and in other areas of development.
The bickerings go on and on as if the country is bereft of what is happening in the advanced world, in this modern time of digital development practices.
The developed societies have the highest intelligent use of calculations, in their diplomatic dealings with the matters of the global moment that may arise.
It is well known that the birth of terrorism and crimes came into being, from the political wombs of bad Leadership in Nigeria.
So, come to think on this that while the advanced world goes nuclear in new developments, Nigeria is lagging with playing politics of bickerings.
It appears that civilization has not gotten to Nigeria yet, because of a lack of Political, Social and Home economics development disciplines. Are we thoughtless?
Come to think on all these that politics of bickerings cannot do Nigeria any good, it can't bring love to the country, it can't be of immense pleasure to God of all creations, it cannot develop the economy, but can only damage the nation further in the eyes of the sane people of the world.
To God is the glory forever.
