The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has "approved the conferment of National Honours Award of Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON on Governor David Nweze Umahi."
Umahi's Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mr Chooks Oko stated this in a press release on Monday.
Mr Oko said: "The approval was contained in a letter forwarded to the Governor by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume on Monday."
"The Minister in the letter emphasized that the choice of Engineer Umahi for this prestigious National Honours Award was a sequel to the Governor's unequalled track record of performance within seven years in office as Governor.
"The investiture of the Governor and other deserving Nigerians is slated to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, October 11, 2022."
