As plans and activities given the 2023 general elections are ongoing, the people of Ohaozara Local Government Area have disclosed their intentions to reciprocate the support given to them by the people of Ebonyi North zone during the 2015 and 2019 general elections when their illustrious son, Engr. David Nweze Umahi was elected to serve the Ebonyi people in the capacity of the number one citizen in the state.
This disclosure was made today at Obiozara, during the wards and local government inauguration ceremony of the executive members of the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON) youths movement.
Speaking during the event, the Executive Chairman, Ohaozara L.G.A, Hon. Chinonso Ajah who was ably represented by the Acting Chairman, Ebonyi State Coordinators Forum, Hon. Enyi Patrick said that it is right and just to return power to Ebonyi North in 2023 and not to allow unnecessary sentiments to boycott the existing love and cordial relationship among the people of the three senatorial districts of the state.
In his part, the Honourable Member representing Ohaozara West Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Onu Nwonye, while encouraging the people to maintain the zoning formula in the sharing of key political positions, emphasized the need to promote unity and development which is anchored on equity, justice and fairness, and encouraged the people of the area to vote for Rt. Hon. Nwifuru and other candidates of APC in the forthcoming general elections.
Similarly, the Member representing Ohaozara East, Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lilian Nwachukwu said that Nwifuru is a very intelligent and coordinated man whose experience and unique way of doing things, call for massive support.
Also, the President, of Akubaroha Youth Assembly, Hon. Mark Onu used the opportunity to correct an impression purported by some people that Governor Umahi brought Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to be the next governor, stressing that the choice of Mr Speaker was a collective decision of the entire Ebonyians and that the governor only joined the teaming Ebonyians to support his candidacy, adding that Ohaozara is intact for all the APC candidates.
In related remarks, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Documentation, Mr Francis Nwaze, noted that FON Youths Movement is a recognized body and that everybody should join the massive movement while expressing hope that Nwifuru will be returned as the next governor in 2023 given the smooth and progressive arrangements going in the state.
Others who spoke during the event including the APC Candidate of Ohaozara East Constituency, Hon. Nwankwor Chikezie and the Coordinator FON in Ohaozara L.G.A, Comrade Godwin Enekwachi said that FON represents equity, justice and fairness and that their son, the state government came to power because of the regard for the principles of equity, stressing that anybody who believes in the progress of the state must vote for Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in 2023.
While addressing the people shortly after the inauguration, the National President of the movement, Comrade Chinedu EEmerick thanked the people of the area for their support and charged the newly inaugurated executive members to be result oriented.
