I could remember what exactly happened over the issue of the Charter of Equity sometime ago at Onueke, Ezza South LGA in 2019. Natural justice, Equity and Fair play were highlighted.
There was a pronouncement first made by Senator Sam.O. Egwu, calling for a power shift to Ebonyi North Zone in 2023.
The call was highly welcome as a general task to be done, after Governor Umahi's office tenure and it was a sacrosanct idea.
That was during the second tenure Gubernatorial campaign of the incumbent Governor, with those other State and Federal political Aspirants, at the time that PDP was in total control over Ebonyi State. No informed Adult who is still alive can selfishly deny it.
It was a PDP one-house affair unfailingly perfected for use, in the exercise of zoning right on the Guber general elections for 2023. No objections were recorded.
In other words, it was the PDP that brought the idea of the Charter of equity and sold it for the people to buy and make good use of it when the effective time comes.
It was as a bread of irrevocable and irreversible covenant based on equity with a solid agreement.
Now, something else took a U' turn in the politics of Ebonyi State and a change occurred.
This change doesn't in any way mean anything to a covenant in place already because there is no place where the law fails to recognize that a covenant has no room for circumvention, not even when there's a change in politics. Politics is apart from it.
The APC emerged in control of the State affairs, with Governor Umahi's exit from PDP to APC.
This is where the cracks began to affect the political house of unity, equity and natural justice.
But God the creator, who is the embodiment of the truth, unity, equity and natural justice didn't quash the covenant of shifting power to the Ebonyi North Zone and as agreed upon earlier on.
But I can see it was even the People's Democratic Party that first brought the idea, sold the carrot to people unilaterally in the marketplace of agreement, made a covenant of Statewide acceptance and the buying of the idea as a law of the political charter of Equity that has now reneged. They ate their vomit.
The same PDP rather than be as were thrown out the charter of equity to the South Zone this time. It is highly disappointing.
Other political parties that didn't behave like PDP kept their choice of Candidacies with the Ebonyi North Zone.
Those other political parties intended to please the Ebonyi North Zone with the entire State electorate, who are or were already aware of the charter of equity in the State.
That's good but what happens to the charter of equity, if they don't agree with APC the ruling political party in Ebonyi State?
Making the Ebonyi North Zone the latest beautiful bride in the politics of the State is good, but what happens to the Charter of equity if they don't agree with the APC, the governing party?
Now, as the APC is also doing the same thing by fielding their political bridegroom in the same marketplace of the new expected marriage event, what happens to the love charter of equity with many prospectuses in the contest of the same bliss shop?
The most complex interest in the whole matter is that when things like this happened, who is going to be a better choice of the electorate before the proper date of vote wedding arrives?
As the struggle continues I am sure that those who have the upper hand, clean heart, love of God, the crown of glory, high sense of democracy, decency and orderliness of character, handy covenant law of equity, justice, fairness, loyalty, humility, truth and obedience to the wishes of the electorate could resultantly marry the bride at the end of it.
It will be with victory, triumph, joy and gladness without any skin pain, during and after the exercise. It is a neat Prophecy.
It is likely going to be the ruling political party in the State, the APC in Ebonyi North Zone with the person you already know if other bridegrooms are warring against the charter of equity.
He is knocking on your door for you to open for him, and ahead of 2023 when the time comes.
The natural law of equity must prevail in the politics of Ebonyi State, without any successful external influence of sabotage.
