The Youth Wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has thrown its weight behind the charter of equity guiding the rotation of Governorship positions between the three Senatorial Zones of Ebonyi State.
The Youths made their position known in a statement signed by their National Youth Leader, Mazi Damian Okafor and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Wednesday.
Mazi Okafor said hence the State was created by the Abacha Military regime on the ground of equity, it was right its governance reflects equity, justice and fairness at all times.
He observed that the charter though not written has been etched in the minds of the Ebonyi people having naturally ensured that power flowed sequentially from North through the South Senatorial Zones in the first round.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Leader insisted that there was no need to discard an arrangement that has served the people well in the last 26 years just because of political interest.
He, therefore, aligned with the call for the r return of the Governorship position in 2023 to the Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone where the first cycle started.
Mazi Okafor opined that an attempt to forcefully alter the natural political equation would result in disequilibrium in the State's political hemisphere.
