On the media political question on who will bail the cat in a cage of disunity with differences, as the 2023 general elections were getting closer, Egede Lawrence writes.
I pray very fervently that the APC's Gubernatorial flag bearer for Ebonyi State will flourish in these days of political hitches.
I quite sympathize with the APC flag bearer, on the occasion of his eventual emergence as the Guber Candidate for the State.
He emerged at a time there is no political cohesion in Nigeria, especially when there were no more free grounds for elections and cooperation of the masses
I won't celebrate him, neither be enthusiastic yet, nor join others to congratulate him because of the huge task waiting for him at the campaign door at home, and in front of lack of political unity.
The simplest statement to use in a celebration and a success story is to say Happy Birthday and Congratulations to people who are earmarking their joys. It is often possible.
even when a blast of a war bomb or a ghastly accident happened and people survived it safe and sound, the joy of escaping the fatal consequences of death is there to celebrate the whole scenario.
But the hardest success story to tell is how far we faired well in the narratives after all said and done which marks the joy in it. That's the big task ahead.
The task ahead is what we can make out of surviving it fairly well, after the joys that we expressed in celebrating victory over death and, or having gone successfully through a tough competition with pass marks.
And so the story goes on in a lifetime of Celebration, celebrating us also on how well we faired in the end with Congratulations.
Jesus Christ said to his disciples not to rejoice yet, for the fact that the devils were all subject to their commands, but that their names be written in the book of life thereafter. That is to say in the end victory was gained. No two ways about it.
It is not just giving or getting the Guber ticket in Ebonyi North but how to utilize it well is the task ahead, which I am talking about if without togetherness.
The philosophy of a beginning says that the "End Justifies The Means," still points out things about the task ahead of people on a journey of life in a race.
The task ahead is huge in a big political race, where people are participating to win and clinch the ticket of victory at the end.
When anything happens in a society everybody is involved because we are human beings.
We have passed the primary election exams, and will soon enter the tertiary examinations.
We are to run a kind of political race to clinch the final mantle of victory, to be in the position being desired and to win in the end, particularly the Guber iron seat which has a 100% stake.
I am talking to the Ebonyi North politicians, who are competing with each other to become one thing or the other in the race.
Too many candidates in the race including the Gubernatorial slot, which is to produce one person only after all said and done. The admixture is a task.
The other political parties in the race are also struggling fast to produce one person each. Can there be a mega unity with all the political parties still in the race? Can the fragments blend?
Will they merge with the APC just to produce a governor? Can they unite Ebonyi North to help in producing a governor? Can Ebonyi North attract them in the unity of purpose to produce a governor come 2023 in Ebonyi State? These are big questions.
That's the big task ahead of us in Ebonyi State political fields. Ebonyi is a multiparty State.
It is no longer one mighty party affair this time, so the task ahead is not a joke for anyone.
With what I have seen so far from the ongoings, there is no hope for Ebonyi North to be in unity, even if the heavens will fall because of many hands on the spoil in the race to become masters at once. That's another task ahead of us on this side.
In an Ireland of many kings and no servants, there are problems impossible to solve altogether.
The task ahead is that many hands on the cookies will spoil the broth at last, which destroys the good taste of the pudding in the eating. Who bails the Cat?
Can Ebonyi Central, with their son of the soil in the same Guber race agree to bail the Cat easily, for Ebonyi North to sail through and ascend the throne of governorship at the end?
Can Ebonyi South relinquish their credits over time for the North to ascend the echelon of power, even when they are done with us already? They also have a billionaire son who is running the Guber race in 2023. Can all of them abandon him for sake of another? Is it possible at all?
All the political parties are also aiming at the Guber position in Ebonyi State. Can they say yes to Ebonyi North to be there at their own expense in the race?
Governor Umahi has another weighty national position to clinch and to spend on it. He has other things to do at home and abroad about his plans at the end of his tenure in office.
Can Governor Umahi bail the Cat after carrying his load for eight years, and leaving the kind of legacies that those who are disunited cannot uphold at last? How can he load further?
A wise adage says, "Numerous thanks given to one person that carries heavy loads oftentimes breaks the neck of the bearer."
Can APC as a single political party with all other challenges facing her be able to bail the Cat, where political differences are on the mountaintop in the shredded Ebonyi North Zone?
With the INEC's authenticated APC Guber Candidate for the State having challenges here and there at home, how will the party help him with a hand of realities? Can he do it apart?
Can INEC come to the rescue by giving APC Guber victory at the Polls automatically, even as it's so evident that Ebonyi North isn't together by destroying her basis for the political right of party advantage in the State?
How can the APC contain and condone people, who don't like togetherness to appreciate the free advantage accorded them?
Can a handful of the Youths in Ebonyi North form the majority that can give victory to anyone at the polls, in a total Statewide Gubernatorial mega elections?
Where the elders are almost forgotten, can some blessings will come out for God to give electoral approval?
There are many omissions in the possibilities that can draw the interest of voters, to some extent for political candidates in 2023. Arrogance is a poison.
People are already taking a kind of "Cannot" position against the political pride assailing those in the race, with all the bragging.
With a Cannot position nobody Can, where dependence on the selfish bench in disunity is far stinking like an untreated latrine.
So, let us expect somebody to bail the Cat with a miracle. But is it possible with scattered low aims, without the objectives to build on top of golden legacies?
No father like Governor Umahi will marry a wife for his son, and as well buy a bed for the son and wife, and also teach them both how to produce babies. It is traditionally futile.
Governor Umahi has done what he said as "Ekwueme," but then can Ebonyi North Politics and the governorship race blend in 2023? That's a very huge task ahead and who bears it at last?
I am not happy with what is going on politically in Ebonyi North, where unity is strange.
