An Oxford-trained Entrepreneur and the 2023 Labour Party candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh has urged all the gubernatorial candidates of different political parties who hail from the Izhi clan to embrace alignment and realignments in the spirit of brotherhood and unity of purpose even amidst some inevitable plurality of interests among themselves.
Dr Eze made the call while congratulating the gubernatorial candidates following their names that were published by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.
The House of Representatives hopeful, who urged the gubernatorial candidates to rise and work together, congratulated "Arch Dr Edward Nkwegu, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Engr Chief Chukwuma Nwandugo, Chief Adol Awam and Engr Chief Sunday Andrew Opoke on their successful confirmation by the INEC as the authentic governorship candidates of the Labour Party, APC, AA, NNPP and YPP respectively."
He said: "Having crossed the stage of intra-party tussles and corresponding wild speculations, it is now time for us to retreat and put our house in order as Ndu-Izhi.
"Alignments and realignments must be done in the spirit of brotherhood and unity of purpose even amidst some inevitable plurality of interests.
"Those who, in their nocturnal meetings, are banking on violent intimidation of others as part of their campaign strategies must also be reminded that those who prioritize peace and civility do not do so from a place of weakness. Such people are rather the people we should emulate and never interpret their meekness as a lack of necessary arsenals with which to legally and decisively take on those who may dare to unjustly step on and crush their toes.
"We must be intentional about seeking to prove wrong those who have written us off as people who are bound to fling themselves into political oblivion through primitive and barbaric in-fighting.
"We must remember that the truly strong is imbued with CALM and CONFIDENCE.
"Together we can achieve a better Ebonyi State and more particularly, a more peaceful and progressive Izhi land.
"Together we shall begin crafting a new, progressive story of our zone. Together we shall reclaim our destiny."
