---Says only lazy people can seek government jobs after serving as Ebonyi state governor
Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Engineer Sunday Andrew Opoke on Saturday inaugurated his media supporters.
The event held at Abakaliki town recorded the presence of executives and members of other political parties, with civil society groups who assured the YPP gubernatorial candidate of their support following his excellent agenda, discernment, expertise and susceptibility.
Addressing journalists shortly after the inauguration, Engineer Opoke described members of his media support group as the "In-House Comrades."
The YPP governorship flag bearer said the media partners whom he further called his media influencers, have assured him of their unwavering support ahead of the 2023 polls.
According to him, "the essence of having the town hall meeting with them is to know the workforce so that in the course of their reports, they should be able to articulate my visions in their reportage."
He expressed optimism about his victory at the 2023 guber polls, revealing different prophecies coming from great men of God in his favour and several supports already got from stakeholders in the state, especially members of the opposition parties.
He said that his party will soon inaugurate the campaign council to enable him to unveil his manifesto as the campaign has officially kicked off.
Engineer Opoke maintained that his 2023 bid to serve the Ebonyi people, was because he intended to end poverty in the state through gospel revolution and wealth creation.
He assured of making governance easily accessible to the commoners in the society and linking the state to advanced nations, through technological transfer, stressing that after his administration, "only the lazy people will be seeking government jobs, as many Ebonyians will be key actors in wealth creation across the globe."
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Honourary Award to Engineer Sunday Andrew Opoke for his nonviolent approach to politics and selfless service to humanity by the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS), Tansi Nathy's Chaplaincy, Ishieke Campus, Ebonyi State University Abakaliki of Final Year Forum Circle of Champions.
