Arriving at Akwa Ibom for the Presidential Campaign in the state, the Obidient pipkins were in jubilation while embracing Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State arrived in the state alongside his campaign team.
Obi will be hoping to attract the support of the people of Akwa Ibom on Tuesday ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The Labour Presidential candidate In the forthcoming general elections would be contesting against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, flag bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso and several others.
Peter Obi, however, will be without the Director General of his campaign council, Doyin Okupe who was sentenced to two years imprisonment on Monday over alleged money laundering.
Recall that the Abuja High Court Judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, during a session on Monday, found Okupe guilty of contravening sections 16(1)&(2) of the Money Laundering Act.
The Judge said Okupe was guilty of collecting cash payments over the threshold allowed under the Act without going through a financial institution.
Reacting, Peter Obi declared that the conviction of his campaign council's DG, Doyin Okupe cannot demoralize him while seeking to be Nigeria's President come 2023.
