...Declares no village should live without a borehole in Ebonyi North Senatorial District

At least 500 youths and women of Ebonyi North Senatorial District were beneficiaries of Senator Sam Ominyi Egwu's training and empowerment programme on borehole maintenance and modern water treatment techniques.
Speaking at the flagging off of the event on Tuesday in Abakaliki, Senator Egwu who is a member representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the National Assembly disclosed that he facilitated the programme powered by the Federal government agency - the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority for the general benefit of his constituents, especially in having potable water in their various homes and towns.
He expressed his commitment to ensuring every village in his senatorial district has a functional borehole and stressed the need to train and equip his constituents to have the skills in borehole maintenance and modern water treatment to make them self-reliant in the area.
Senator Egwu who was represented by Engr Collins Nweze (Esq) said at the end of the programme every participant in the event would be given start-up cash and tools to enable him or her to begin to utilize the skills in promoting Water Sustenance, Sanitation and Hygiene in his constituency.
He expressed confidence that after the training, most of the beneficiaries would be spirited to establish either a bottled or sachet water factory; to have modern treated and branded potable water of their own to make a promising living in any part of the world.
Some speakers at the event included Barr Obinna Iteshi - the PDP Candidate for Ebonyi North West Constituency, his counterpart of Abakaliki North - Comrade Victor Nwoke, party Chieftain - Hon Christopher Mkpuma, the facilitator of the programme - Charles Eze, among others commended Senator Sam Egwu's achievements in the National Assembly especially in empowering his constituents and attracting life touching projects to his constituency since he emerged as the Red Chambers Lawmaker, pointing out that his excellent leadership began when he served as the governor of the state.
They also urged the beneficiaries to replicate the gesture at their polling units by voting for Senator Egwu to emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections.
They further expressed optimism that Senator Egwu's victory in the 2023 polls would earn him a key functionary position, such as Senate President to continue providing succour not only to his constituents but the entire Ebonyi people and other citizens across the country.
On their part, on behalf of the beneficiaries, Bernard Akputa, Bethel Aragba and many others cutting across Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izzi and Ohaukwu Local Government Areas under Ebonyi North Senatorial District commended Senator Egwu and equally promised to make him proud while assuring him of their unwavering support to ensure his landslide victory at the polls come 2023.
They noted with joy that the training would make them self-reliant as they could now repair boreholes and can establish water production businesses of their own.
All the beneficiaries were presented with water purifiers and spanners among other working tools.
It would be recalled that Senator Sam Ominyi Egwu has sunk over one hundred motorized and hand pump boreholes across Ebonyi North Senatorial District to ensure the availability of drinkable water. This is in addition to electric transformers, solar street lights, classroom blocks, skill acquisition centres, road networks and many other life-touching projects he has provided.
