A None Governmental Organisation NGO, Universal Outreach for Women Empowerment Initiative UNOWEMI has Celebrated Ebonyi Widows and Indigents to Mark the 2022 Christmas celebration by donating food items, clothes and water containers to children as well.
The NGO is powered by World Mission Foundation, New York USA.
The Chief Executive Officer CEO of the Organisation, Evangelist Abigail Eze-Iheukwumere disclosed this to Journalists during the Empowerment programme at the Universal Christ Ministry of All Nations in Abakaliki the State capital.
Eze-Iheukwumere said, "I was moved when I travelled United States Of America USA in 2017 where people were giving testimonies on how NGOs have changed their lives positively and I promised myself that I am going to positively change the livelihood of my people for the better".
"We have empowered many in four Local Government Areas of the State like; Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Affikpo North and Ikwo LGAs"
"This Empowerment programme which was powered by World mission foundation, New York USA, was also achieved in collaboration of with Universal Christ Mission of All Nations here in Abakaliki". She said.
"We came up with this Empowerment programme because Ebonyi Widows and indigents are suffering. We want to alleviate their suffering to the barest minimal."
"Today, we have empowered over 100 widows, indigents and children. To the glory of God, we shall one day eradicate poverty in the state". Eze-Iheukwumere added.
The Reverend in charge of Universal Christ Ministry of All Nations, Dr Scamb Nwokolo advised the widows who were empowered to live a life worthy of emulation instead of involving in harmful behaviours.
Dr Nwokolo further prayed for God's Providence in their lives.
On her part, a women Knowledge specialist who educated the women during the program, Pastor Roseline Ezeudu advises the widows and the indigents to always avoid eating anything that can cause health mishaps but ensure that all their intakes are healthy food.
"You must avoid overthinking as it can lead you to High blood pressure. Drink water regularly, avoid fried foods, eat more or less natural foods, and above all, go for Medical checks regularly". Ezeudu advised.
In appreciation, the head of the widows Mrs Blessing Ofobuike thanked the Organisers for coming to help them.
Ofobuike prayed for God's blessings upon the lives of the Organisers.
