The female folks of the Labour Party (LP) faithful in Ebonyi on Saturday, inaugurated their State Women Leader, Princess Nkemdirim Ojeh in Abakaliki capital city.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that Ojeh's inauguration was witnessed by all the wives of the candidates of the Labour Party in the state, who were led by the wife of the Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of their party, Lady Mary Nkwegu.
Interacting with Journalists during the inaugural ceremony, Lady Nkwegu charged the women leader to carry everybody along while canvassing for the victory of the Labour Party candidates at the 2023 polls in the state.
Lady Nkwegu expressed her confidence that the women leader would deliver her job successfully, saying she has to be plotting the affairs of Labour Party women in the state.
She explained that it was necessary to strengthen the division of labour in all activities that would lead to the success of the Labour Party at the polls.
She said: "This is our time to go into the villages to canvass for votes to enable Peter Obi to win Nigeria’s President, Edward Nkwegu to become the Governor of the State and all the candidates of Labour Party, both those contesting for the National and State House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections."
“I am sure that everyone in the State wants positive change for turnaround development.
"If Labour Party wins in all the positions, I assure you that no Nigerian will be poor again because poverty will be reduced to the barest minimally. There will be no killing again and insecurity will be a thing of the past."
Lady Nkwegu however, urged Ebonyi people to rush and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs to enable them to vote for their preferred candidates on election day.
“Without your PVC, you cannot make the right choice. We are here to make the positive change happen, in 2023” she hinted.
Also, the Chairman of the Coalition of Peter Obi support Group in Ebonyi State, Dr John Agha advised the women during the inauguration to work hard to rescue the nation from the predominant state of deprivation and tension due to alleged bad leadership.
Meanwhile, the Women Leader of the Labour Party in the State, Princess Nkemdirim Ojeh appreciated the women for finding her worthy to be their leader under the Labour Party umbrella in the forthcoming election.
Princess Ojeh promised to do everything possible to ensure that Labour Party comes out victorious at the 2023 polls in Ebonyi State while decrying the unfavourable conditions facing the citizens across the nation due to the poor leadership.
Recall that the wives of the Labour Party contestants including Lady Mary Nkwegu gave the women both moral and financial support during the event.
