Worried over the ongoing civil unrest in Sudan, the National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC) has called on President Muhammad Buhari led Federal government through the Nigerian Ambassador to Sudan, Mr Safiu Olukayode Olaniyan to immediately convey the Citizens of the country back home.
The Association in a press release signed by her National President, Comrade Ogbonnaya Emmanuel and the Secretary-General, Comrade Ibrahim H. Zango observed that:
"The lives and well-being of the Nigerians in the Diaspora remain paramount in the heart of its responsive Government productively championed by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, *His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari* at all times and had demonstrated this at different occasions.
"Consequent upon the above, the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Comrades *(NANC)* led by its astute National President, his Comradeship, *Comrade Ogbonnaya Chinwendu Emmanuel* has called on the Nigerian Government to intervene in the current public peace interruption and civil unrest currently being witnessed in the respected Country of Sudan by conveying the Nigerian residing in the affected Country back home as a matter of urgency.
"It has been a source of major concern over the sudden rise of avoidable conflicts between the Sudanese Military Armed Forces and Paramilitary Group(Rapid Support Force) which has led to the untimely death of innocent Citizens numbering about Four Thousand (4,000) or more.
NANC further described the ongoing fallout of peace and orderliness amongst the security outfits in Sudan as an avoidable scenario after disclosing that, Sudan has been known as a peaceful and accommodative Country over the years and wondered, what could form the basis of the ongoing civil unrest.
The Association beckoned on the Federal Government of Nigeria through the office of the Ambassador to Sudan headed by Mr Safiu Olukayode Olaniyan to peacefully assist in ensuring that, the Nigerians residing in the affected Country return home to avert more death tolls and injuries already recorded from different spheres.
The body also noted that the peaceful return of Nigerians from Sudan would further pave the way for the affected Country to fix their security differences also restore law and order as less of foreign faces would be witnessed around.
NANC urged the Sudanese Country led by its National Leaders to shun all differences es, personal aggrandizement and put the Country first and resolve all fallouts from all corners irrespective of the causes for the benefit of its Citizens and economy.
"It has been established by reliable sources that, the Nigerians in Sudan are crying of insecurities, hunger and starvation. They had also lamented being faced with the theatre of fierce military confrontations capable of leading to a waste of lives," NANC added.
