The Chairman of the Artisans Association of Nigeria in Ebonyi State, Pastor Friday Eze Nwaze has been appointed as a board member of the World African SMES Knowledge Hub and Peacebuilding Projects, owned by the African Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AASME).
AASME President, Dr Darlington Onuoha Kalu made this known in Nwaze's introductory letter dated 28th February 2023 which he addressed to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Nweze Umahi.
The letter was also copied to the office to the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Ebonyi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Business Development, SMEDAN, NEPC, Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Part of the letter read: "On 8th December 2022, the African Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AASME), Coalition of Business Groups and Association of Nigeria (COBGAN) & Dar-Sent Organization inaugurated the Governing Board of the world-AfricanSME Knowledge Hul & Peace Building Project, the Hub is the first in Africa with over 35 component, it's a prolific centre for wealth creation through knowledge for African development economy to the world with a mind-blowing value.
"Pastor Nwaze Friday Eze, being a SMES operator and developer contributing to the State, National and individual economic development, as we marched into the African continent free Trade Agreement Area (AFCFTA), we as the team lead on the AFCFTA manufacturing sector group in southern Nigeria, therefore considered Pastor Nwaze Friday Eze Ebonyi State Chapter Chairman, worthy to contribute to the affairs of the AfricanSMES Ebonyi State of Nigeria."
The Association, therefore, requested that Governor Umahi give him (Nwaze) maximum support for the development of the MSMEs in the state and region, as it nominated him for an award of excellence.
"We have to reward you for your achievement in developing the Ebonyi State and the South East region-African economy.
"We hereby nominate you for the AfricanSMES Award before the first quarter of the year. Thanks for your kind co-operation," the letter further read.
