Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has prayed for the country's President-elect Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima few hours ahead of their inauguration on May 29.
Osinabajo who shared his prayers for the incoming administrations at all levels on his confirmed social media walls, also prayed that Tinubu's led government would grow in stature and wisdom for the overall benefit of the Nigerians.
The outgoing Vice President described God as the ultimate builder and protector of the nations and noted that people should be key participants by contributing to the building process.
His words: "God is the ultimate builder and protector of nations, but he has instructions for the people that participate and contribute to the building process.
"To the leaders, he says in Proverbs 14:34, that “righteousness exalts a nation…” and to the people, he says in Jeremiah 29:7, to “work for the peace and prosperity” of the nation.
"At the Inauguration Service earlier today, I gave a short exhortation on nation-building and gave gratitude to God that we are moving from one democratic transition to another for the seventh time in our political history.
"I prayed that the President-elect, Senator Bola Tinubu, the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shetima and the new government will grow in stature, wisdom and favour with the almighty God in all their days in office and beyond."
