The President, of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Nigeria, Pastor Professor Bassy Effiong Udoh, has charged Christians across the world to live a righteous life to bring about heaven.
The cleric gave the charge at the 2023 Solemn Assembly of the Church, Ebonyi State Chapter, held at Community Progressive Model Primary School, Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.Speaking on the Theme of this year's Conference, "We are almost here,' Professor Udoh, noted that different strange things happening in the world today such as climate change, killings, crises, strange killer diseases, indecent dressing, gay marriage and sexual immorality among others, are signs that the coming of Christ is almost at hand.
Pastor Udoh said Christians have left their first love in Christ in pursuit of worldly things and enjoined them to be conscious of the end time and turn away from evil.
He said there is no hiding place for unrepentant evildoers, which according to him, shall never go unpunished.
The State President of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Emmanuel Nweke, said the world is full of evil and called on Christians to stop looking for miracle centres but true salvation and strive to make a better home in heaven.
The Stewardship Director, Ebonyi Conference of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Christopher Ngwuta, in a message titled, Understanding God's School of Life, enjoined Christians to be conscious of what they do and live a Holy life to spend eternity in Heaven.
The Solemn Assembly featured the presentation of the award to some deserving members for their outstanding services to the Church and elderly ones from 70 years and above as well as intercessory prayers for special issues among others.
