The wife of the executive Governor of Ebonyi State Chief (Mrs) Mary Uzomaka Nwifuru has promised the inclusion of more women in the governance of Ebonyi State led by Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
She made the promise while receiving the members of the Onwa Oferekpe Foundation Women Wing and the National Council of Women's Societies Nigeria, Ebonyi State branch who paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Abakaliki.
Chief (Mrs)Nwifuru who was highly elated to receive the people, commended the women for their immense contributions and unflinching support during the election which gave them victory at the polls.
She said she would do her best to ensure Ebonyi Women were given more than 35 per cent affirmative action while assuring to engage them in her programmes and promised to carry them along at all times.
She charged them to always remain supportive of the policies and programmes of the State Government to move the State forward.
In their mission statements, the President of the National Council of Women's Societies Nigeria Hon. Chinyere Udoku and the National President of Onwa Oferekpe Foundation women's wing Barr Stella Nwagu said they were in her office to appreciate her for the appointment of women into the various positions of trust in the State especially that of Deputy Governor Mrs Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, the first female Secretary to the State Government Professor Grace Umuzuruike, commissioners, senior special assistants and special assistants among others.
They pledged their unalloyed support and solidarity to her proactive and innovative government and expressed their readiness to collaborate with her in all programmes and activities of Government especially as it regards her office towards lifting Ebonyi women to the greater heights.
They however solicited more appointments from the women folks and prayed to God to continue to bless her for her exceptional and action-oriented leadership.
