The new Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Ebonyi, Hon Uchenna Igwe has assured of a rapid positive change in his ministry under his watch in the state.
Igwe made the promise during his inaugural reception at his Idembia Ishieke country home in Ebonyi LGA of Ebonyi State.
According to him, "Local Government will change this time around from what it used to be. Local Government is a place where the grassroots dwellers would see the impacts of governance, but you can see, everything relies on the centre - the state level.
"So in our administration, I believe that we will make local government the best tier of the government."
He commended Governor Francis Nwifuru on his wisdom in choosing the majority of youth as his cabinet members and aides and described the appointments as a call for the bold pursuit to emancipate the state.
"Why do I say so he (Governor Nwifuru) is a youth, he knows what he wants. He doesn't what dull moments, but he wants people who are energetic and can contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear state."
He assured the Governor that his office would deliver and make his administration proud.
"We will not make the governor regret, because we are determined to make him proud and we will deliver," Igwe promised.
Other speakers during the event included the former Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Sabinus Nwankwegu, the member representing Ebonyi North West State Constituency, Barrister Aloysius Nwodo, a Mbeke Ishieke community stakeholder, Chief Lazarus Eze, etc congratulated the new commissioner and urged massive support for him to deliver his mandate.
They equally commended Governor Nwifuru for the calibres of persons he appointed to be his cabinet members and aides while steering the leadership of the State.
