The Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Nwifuru said that he had directed the commencement processes for the renovation of the Ezillo Water Treatment Plant in the State.
The Ezillo Water Treatment Plant which is currently not functioning is located in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Apart from the Ezillo Water Treatment Plant, the state has Oferekpe and Okowa Water Schemes located in Ikwo and Onicha Council Areas respectively.
Both the Oferekpe and Okowa Water Schemes are not currently operative because of the suspected technical faults, which needed to be fixed.
Presently, the state lacks potable water even though it has different water schemes, and Ebonyians have been requesting the reticulation of drinkable water to their various homes by the new administration.
Consequently, Governor Nwifuru has assured the citizens of Ebonyi State of quality water supply in no distant future.
He made this known on his confirmed social media wall yesterday, saying it was part of his campaign promises.
He posted: "I have directed the immediate commencement of processes for the renovation of Ezillo Water Treatment Plant which covers Abakaliki Capital City.
