The Abia State government led by Governor Alex Otti has disclosed its choice of paying salaries of the civil servants with the same modalities as last December.
The State government through the office of the Head of Service made this known in a circular forwarded to the NATIONAL PANEL during the weekend.
The circular dated 22nd June 2023 and endorsed by the Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, was addressed to different relevant authorities in Abia, including the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff to the Governor.

"I write to notify all Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Parastatals of government that payment of June 2023 salary shall be based on the ay modalities used in the payment of December 2022 salary. This is as e f various anomalies identified in the submissions earlier made by the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
"Accordingly, Directors of Administration and Directors of Finance are to suit to the Accountant-General's office their Nominal Rolls, Audit CClearances as well as. their Salary Printouts for December 2022, not later than the close of work on Monday, 26* June 2023.
"Any MDA that fails to submit the aforementioned documents to the Accountant General's office risks the chance of not receiving her June 2023 salary payment.
"All concerned are to ensure strict compliance."
