The Immediate Past Principal Secretary to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Emmanuel Obasi has commended the State Election Petition Tribunal sitting at Abuja over its verdict yesterday which upheld the victory of Governor Francis Nwifuru at the March 18 gubernatorial election.
Obasi eulogized Governor Nwifuru for having stood bold since his successful election and inauguration and not allowing the litigations by his political rivalries during the election to distract him from delivering his People's Charter of Needs manifesto to Ebonyi citizens.
The former PS who stated this in his congratulatory message, said, the tribunal judgement has led to the confinement of the petitions of Nwifuru's challengers to the dustbin of history where they rightly belong as worthless papers
"I, Chief Emmanuel Obasi JP and family happily congratulate our Divine Mandate Governor, His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his victory, this time around, at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.*
"We are so overwhelmed with happiness not only because the Judges ruled in your favour but much more because they treated the petitions of the opposition Parties against your victory at the pools in a very mesmerising fashion. They confined their petitions to the dustbin of history where they rightly belong as worthless papers because, in the final analysis, the petitioners woefully failed on all the grounds of their petitions and were accordingly struck out by the judges.
"Unfortunately, people who contested elections against the tide, against all known political mathematics and equity, justice and fairness will rise to challenge your Divine Mandate victory which the good people of Ebonyi State willingly and overwhelmingly gave to you.
"With this victory which has further cemented your victory at the pools on 18th March 2023 and nailed all malicious insinuations and propaganda by opposition elements and detractors in the State, it is expected that Your Excellency will fully settle down to unleash dividends of democracy on the good people of Ebonyi State across the 13 LGAs based on the Divine Mandate Consolidation and Continuity mantra.
"I'm particularly happy that the seed of equity, justice and fairness which was planted and nurtured by the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Senator David Nweze Umahi, fence, fate, GGCEHF, current Federal Minister of Works, was not truncated by the evil forces of the opposition.
"Your Excellency, congratulations once more and may the good Lord continue to be with you and your Administration as you serve the people of Ebonyi State with the best of intentions," Obasi said.
